Armenia develops its mushroom production

During its Thursday’s session, the Government of Armenia decided to postpone the Armenian-Dutch joint venture Biga Company’s value-added-tax commitments, for three years.

The Company produces champignon-type mushrooms in Armavir Region, and it has already invested 980 thousand Euros and created 24 new jobs, to that end. Biga produces close to one ton of mushrooms, on a daily basis, which are completely sold in domestic market, but a certain quantity was exported to the United Arab Emirates.

The Government’s aforesaid decision will enable the Company to establish another production facility, invest close to one-million Euros, and create fifteen more jobs.
