Construction of Dutch mushroom factory begins in Macedonia

The cornerstone laying ceremony for construction of mushroom factory, Dutch foreign investment, is laid Saturday in “Ovce Pole” industrial zone in Sveti Nikole.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, mayor of Sveti Nikole municipality Zoran Tasev and the investor ID Balkan Tetovo, Theodorus Van Kampen attended the event.

The first investment phase includes €3.5 million, while the entire investment in the period of five years is assessed at €25 million. Most important thing is opening new jobs, at the beginning 20 people and in the next years the number of employed persons will reach 450, Gruevski said.

This will revive the region brining benefits for the newly employed persons and their families and to other Macedonian companies that would like to cooperate with the new factory, Gruevski said.

He also pointed out that the government in the future together with Sveti Nikole municipality and other municipalities will work in providing better business climate in the country and more attractive investment opportunities and communication with already existing companies.

He announced start of construction work of Skopje – Sveti Nikole – Stip highway, which will be of great importance both for the business and for foreign investors.

Van Kampen said that Macedonia has enormous potential but the trick is how to use it. Three years ago, Mr. Prime Minister I made a promise in your office, and the promise is now reality, Van Kampen said.

Mayor of Sveti Nikole municipality Zoran Tasev said that this is another example of how the government led by PM Nikola Gruevski works in creating favourable conditions for attracting foreign investors.
