On 22-24 October in Rostov-on-Don hosted the first inteational conference “Mushroom season.” It was organized by Futar Group together with partners: Первая Грибная Компания, TM Futar, ГК Каскад, Santana, Euromycel (France), AgroProject (Poland).
The Conference was conceived as a platform that will help to consolidate the efforts of leading specialists, engineers, consultants, solving the most pressing problems of experienced mushroom growers, and the people who are planning to begin production. The relevance of such an event is the decrease in imports of mushrooms in 2014, and an unstable exchange rate, which led to shortages and higher prices of mushroom production.
N. Orlov, who is the head of department of land relations of Investment Promotion Agency of Rostov Region, held the opening presentation. He emphasized the cooperation and supporting the development of investment potential in the mushroom business. In the following part, editor in chief of Школа Грибоводства, Alexander Khrenov noted that the production of mushrooms in Russia has great potential for development. Consumer demand for mushrooms and oyster mushroom grows rapidly. This makes the industry attractive to investors. In the years 2016-2017 in the Southern Federal District it is expected to increase the production of mushrooms at 4000 tonnes per year.
The conference brought together guests from different regions of Russia, about 100 people from the Crimea, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Samara, Belgorod, Krasnodar, Orel, Volgograd. Among them are the owners of the existing mushroom farms and potential investors who are interested in information on how to create a company “from scratch”.
Heads of leading companies producing mushroom spawn in Russia and France (Santana, Futar, Euromycel) made brief presentations of their products, told about rules of work with spawn. Representatives of companies from the CIS and foreign countries shared their experiences on the use of the latest equipment, topical issues of automation of production processes and technological aspects, raw material production, hygiene of mushroom production, incubation and development of fruit bodies, reprocessing of spent substrate into organic fertilizer. As a result of the conference interest in development of mushroom industry in Russia increased significantly, the investors had the chance to be convinced that the mushroom industry guarantees a stable income.
