Huge king oyster mushroom factory will be built in Germany

On the northern border of Saxony in Torgau (Germany) one of the largest king oyster mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) growing investments in Europe was launched in February.

Mushroom Park GmbH, founded by a group of Korean investors (Green Co. Ltd.) started a 15 million construction project, whose purpose is to be capable of producing 10 tons king oyster mushroom per day in a 6,500 m2 mushroom farm. The construction has started recently, and is expected to end in December 2017.

In the short term, the investment will create 50-60, in the long term 110 jobs. The plans consist of a 39 roomed plant, where the well-known bottle production is to be achieved. Thanks to this technology, the crop will be pickable on day 19 from the inoculation. The first shipments from the establishment is expected to start from April 2018.
