Boglar Champ won the Value and Quality Award

This year, for the first time among the prize-winners, the mushroom industry also represented: Value and Quality Award for the Boglar Champ.

BOGLAR CHAMP was founded in 2002, entirely from private capital, Transylvania, in Szilágyság county. Since foundation they main field of activity is the mushroom production in the Szilágynagyfalva (Nusfalau). In 2002, 8 employees started the production, in one 1886 m2 room, on bagged compost. Every year, the owners have always reinvested the profits, so by 2009 the company has made great progress: in 2009, there were already 5 rooms with 9500 m2 growing surface. From 2011, with a EUR 2.5 million investment, new Dutch type farms were built, mostly from bank loans. From the previously used bag production, they changed to shelf growing. The most advanced feature of this technology is the high mechanization and automation, all the technology phases are managed by computers. The development has resulted in a great increase in efficiency, new and new growing houses have been built, modernizing the irrigation system, cooling and packaging. The last development phase was completed in 2015, with a total of 30 growing rooms with a total area of ​​30,000 m2. They achieved 250-300 tons per week production volume. Today, Boglar Champ has more than 40% of all Romanian mushroom production. At present, Boglar Champ is the largest Romanian company in the field of mushroom industry, with an annual production of 10-12 million kg, corresponding to 1000-1100 tons of monthly production. By the end of 2017, traffic of EUR 15,958,378 was achieved. Boglar Champ Kft. Employs 334 employees, only Hungarian families.The Value and Quality Grand Prize title is the recognition and remuneration of goods, services and business organizations that are demonstrably committed to quality in their activities and attach importance to the production of jointly high quality goods and services. The aim of the application system is to acknowledge the high quality of goods and services in the tender, to promote the production of competitive high quality goods with high added value in the international market and to stimulate the development of services.
