The Canadian Highline Mushrooms acquires Prairie Mushrooms

Highline Mushrooms is pleased to announce its acquisition of the Prairie Mushrooms group of companies, one of Western Canada’s largest integrated mushroom growers and marketers. The Highline now include five farms in British Columbia and Alberta to best serve customers in Western Canada and the U.S. Highline will be led in Western Canada by Duke Tran, the current President and founding shareholder of Prairie Mushrooms.

Highline Mushrooms, founded in 1961, has grown to become the largest mushroom grower in Canada, has more than 1,600 employees across the country. They are the world’s largest grower of organic mushrooms. The Highline was taken over in 2016 by Irish tropical fruit marketing firm Fyffes, expanded later in 2016 beyond its five plants in Ontario and Quebec when it bought All Seasons Mushrooms.

The Prairie Mushrooms name has been known throughout Western Canada as a pioneer and leader in the industry for over 50 years.  Prairie has continued to set the standard for quality and consistency that its retail and food service customers have come to depend on.  Prairie has operations at five sites throughout British Columbia and sells to customers in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Pacific Northwest United States.
